On the Traditions of Quito Tour enjoy your ride on the Trolley, a modern replica of the transportation that circled Quito a century ago, visit the Mercado San Francisco one of the most traditional markets in Quito as well as Casa del Alabado, devoted to Pre-Columbian Art and Ecuadorian Archeology, continue towards La Compañia Church, well known for its structure and golden altars, then arrive to the Plaza Grande and enjoy a dessert at “Heladeria San Agustin”.
Proceed towards the Calle La Ronda to see the different workshops and learn how local artisans work on jewelry, ironwork, inlaid, headgear, tin, among others.

We will board the unique Trolley transport to get to the colonial downtown, this trolley is a modern replica of the transport that circled Quito a century ago, at Mercado San Francisco we will make our first stop, this market is one of the most traditional sites in Quito, it has the appeal and taste of the old Andean markets, here you will see the utilization of customary Andean natural medicine and taste some natural juices from different juices.
Afterwards we visit the historical center Casa del Alabado (entrance included), devoted to Pre-Columbian Art and Ecuadorian Archeology. We continue our tour towards La Compañia Church (entrance included), well known for its structure and golden altars. We will then arrive to the Plaza Grande, also called the Independence Square, encompassed by the Archbishop’s Palace, where we will have a typical Ecuadorian lunch, finishing with a handmade treat in the most traditional bistro in the city “Heladeria San Agustin”.
After lunch, we go towards the Calle La Ronda where we will see the different workshops of the “Manos a la Ronda Project” that tries to protect the legacy of the “Escuela Quiteña”, learn how local artisans work on jewelry, ironwork, inlaid, headgear, tin, among others..
After the visit, the travelers who wish can stay in the historic center for further visits, else we will supplement this experience, by using public transportation to return to the north of the city.
