The latest documentary about Ecuador was recently presented, the 60 minutes documentary Ecuador: The Royal Tour, conducted by the American journalist Peter Greenberg, who toured the four worlds of the country, accompanied by the President of the Republic, Rafael Correa.
“I have traveled to Ecuador for 40 years, I have seen changes but most important is that they have not changed their culture, their food, the spirit of its people” said Greenberg in his presentation.
In President Correa’s speech he said that Ecuador has 14 different nationalities with one common denominator: hospitality for the visitors.
The program seeks to spread the cultural wealth and biodiversity that Ecuador possess as a tourist destination, it promotes a positive image of the country, focused on tourism as a tool for peace and progress.
Between 2007 and 2016 Ecuador has received more than 145 awards in tourism, most recently Ecuador won 14 World Travel Awards, Ecuador’s capital, Quito, was named “South America’s Leading Destination” for the second year in a row at the 21st regional World Travel Awards gala, considered by the Wall Street Journal as the Oscars of the tourism industry Ecuador also won the “South America’s Leading Green Destination” and “South America’s Leading Tourist Board” categories.
